Boudhanath Stupa
Another major attraction is Boudhanath Stupa, which has greater importance in both religion and architecture. It is a major Buddhist monument, which is 11 Km north-east of Kathmandu City. It is also called mini Tibet as it is highly influenced by Tibetan culture.
Swayambhunath Stupa
Lying on the top of a hill, Swyambhunath Stupa is also a Buddhist monument having a history of over 2500 years. It has a lot of Holy monkeys all around the hill, thus earning the name if itself “The Monkey Temple”. Harati Temple of golden theme can also be found at the top beside it, which is a Hindu temple, denoting the harmony between the two religions.
Pashupatinath Temple
A very important monument for the Hindus, especially devotees of Lord Shiva, Pashupatinath Temple lies 5 km northeast of Kathmandu City. It is one of the most visited temples by both Nepalese and Indians. This temple also serves as a crematorium for Hindus. The holy river Bagmati also flows through the temple premises.
